ABOUT
I am currently a disciple of Pandit Omkar Dadarkar. I started learning music at a very early age from my mother Smt. Ratna Kotal. Subsequently I learnt from Vidushi Mandira Lahiri, Shri Shyamal Lahiri, Pandit Biresh Roy and Ustad Jainul Abedin. Although initially music was a hobby to me, later I quit my job and took up music as a career. I have been the recepient of the "Yuva Sangeet Ratna,Young Musician of the Year Award 2013” organized by Milapfest, UK and supported by Arts Council England , and the Pratima Chandra Memorial Award 2018 in khyal and thumri organised by The Doverlane Music Conference. I have had the opportunity to perform in prestigious platforms in the UK and India viz Milapfest (Liverpool) Uttarpara Sangeet Chakra(Kolkata) , the Doverlane Mini Conference (Kolkata), Hamsadhwani Youth Festival (Lucknow) and more. Under the thoughtful and pragmatic guidance of my guru, I hope to take forward the legacy of Hindustani Classical Music both in time and space.
