ABOUT
Anustup Bhattacharyya was initiated to learn the Sitar by his mother at the age of 7. After a few years of lessons from his mother, he continued to learn under Shri Rabi Chakrabarti of the Seni-Maihar Gharana for six years. He has also received training under Pandit Debaprasad Chakraborty and Shri Samanwaya Sarkar for a brief period of one year. He stood first in the “Doverlane Music Competition”, (was also the youngest competitor among candidates of all disciplines and received the “Nikhil Banerjee Memorial Trophy” for being adjudged the best instrumentalist), stood first at the Murari Smriti Sangeet Sammilani, received the “The Telegraph School Awards for Excellence” and has been recently awarded with the National Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India. He has performed at prestigious venues, of which mention must be made of the ITC Sangeet Sammelan, Kolkata in the year 2019. Anustup Bhattacharyya joined ITC SRA as a Junior Scholar in March 2016 and is currently training under Pandit Partha Chatterjee.
