Founded in 2017 by Nistha Raj, recognized by Washington City Paper as "Best Eye for Great Music" (Best of D.C. 2024), District of Raga presents world-class South Asian performing arts—thoughtfully curated and boldly presented. Since its founding, the organization has produced more than 150 concerts and cultural programs featuring over 200 artists, in partnership with leading institutions including Wolf Trap, the Smithsonian National Museum of Asian Art, the Kennedy Center, and Strathmore. By bringing extraordinary artists to premier stages, District of Raga expands audiences for South Asian performing arts and celebrates traditions that continue to shape the global cultural landscape.
