Hemangi Bhagat Nene In the family devoted to music, it was grandfather’s sharp ears which spotted the talent in the crooning child. Mr. J.M. Bhagat cultivated his grand-daughter’s talent and soon under tutelage of “Dr. SHASHIKANT TAMBE” and later “Smt. SHUBADHA MARATHE” her education began its course. Now under the guidance of Guru “Smt. PRATIMA TILAK” (Gem of Jaipur Atrauli Gharana), She is pursuing her art. A university topper in B.A., M.A., M.phil (Vocal music) from DAVV Indore, She is also “VID UTTARARDH” from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya Khairagarh and Graded artist on “All INDIA RADIO” & Doordarshan. Her Father Mr. P.J. Bhagat considers himself a fortunate person whose senior and Younger generation, are united in carrying out his own dreams. A strong unfaltering voice with deep understating of Raga makes her presentations all during. Critics have at times, found her recital inspiring. Though being a Classical Vocalist, she has a command on Semi Classical and Light music too. Confesses Hemangi that her immersion in the act of singing is a result of her continuous quest – the desire to identify and unify with the with the source of music. Her innate talent has brought repute and reward to Hemangi. She has been granted scholarship to pursue her study of music. • SUR SHREE AWARD from SUR SANGAM. • First prize in classical vocal organization by SWAR GANGA SANSTHAN Indore. • Runner up in national classical vocal competition held at Gwalior in association with “BRIHAN MAHARASHTRA MANDAL” New Delhi. • Making university proud won the first prize in National Inter University Youth Festival held at Kurukshetra. • Winner in LATA ALANKARAN competition. She has participated in many prestigious music festival in different cities of India and includes memorable performances.
