The Brooklyn International Music Fest

@thebrooklyninterna

The Brooklyn International Music Festival, which takes place entirely at the Jalopy Theatre, is a two-day celebration of the music and culture of the diverse ethnic communities of New York City. Through dance, music, workshops, and lectures, this festival presents an array of international and diasporic musical traditions extant in NYC and how they are sustained and evolve within the immigrant communities of the city. It seeks to highlight the pancultural experience of how musical traditions are maintained outside their homelands in NYC. This year, the festival will present Iraqi maqam, Georgian harmonies, Korean percussion, Haitian Folk, traditional Chinese music, Son Huasteca, Guinean Afro-Jazz, and more!
