ABOUT
Hi, I’m Alex—a Wild Guide, Life + Leadership coach, Improv-&-Clowning-loving Brit living in Manhattan. See more of my work here: www.alexbalfour.org/rewild All of my work—whether I’m guiding nature-based gatherings, coaching leaders, or playing at the edge of laughter and vulnerability—is about rewilding. That means helping people reconnect with their innate essence, intuition, instinct, imagination, creativity, and aliveness—in themselves and in the world around them. I guide individual and group experiences across NYC that invite people to slow down, listen, and remember: we are not separate. We belong to the Earth. Our bodies are made of the same elements as the soil and stars. Our breath, food, rhythms, and survival are all woven into the web of life. The Earth is not just a backdrop or a resource—it’s a living relationship. In a city culture that moves fast and can leaves us fractured, I help people return to something older, wiser, and wilder than modern life lets us believe. Through simple ritual, deep listening, and playful wonder, I support people in reconnecting with the sacred world around them. " A world that’s not only here to hold our healing—but is also longing to be in relationship with us. Rewilding is about building that relationship, remembering how to listen to the land, respond with love, and take our place in the wider story of belonging. My own journey began during the pandemic, when time in nature became a lifeline. I built real relationships—with the tree beside my fire escape, the river, the sky, the daily sunsets that held my grief and sparked my joy. That path led me on pilgrimage to Ireland to explore Celtic spirituality, and later into deep study through an eco-spirituality certification. I believe we’re longing to remember we belong to a larger web, bigger than ourselves. To feel less alone. To return to relationship—with the Earth, with each other, and with all the parts of ourselves that already know how to belong. Just like children, we can come home to presence, play, joy, and wonder—in the heart of the wild world. More about my coaching and creative offerings at www.alexbalfour.org
