ABOUT
Parijata Performance Projects create performance that combines dance and experimental theater to explore the play between our inner landscapes, outer political realities, and the natural world. Artistic Director Parijat Desai's hybrid choreographies blend Indian classical and folk dance, contemporary dance, somatics, and martial art—both rooted and innovative—to bridge across linguistic and cultural divides and express an authentically South Asian American voice. Dance In The Round, a program of PPP, offers instruction in Gujarati circle dance (garba and raas), as vehicles for community engagement, activation, and empowerment.
