ABOUT
Born in Gazipur, Bangladesh. Father - Professor Basudeb Chandra Gope and Mother- Bhanu Rani Gope. Gope started her journey in music at her age of 10. She got talim under Ananda Chakrabarty, Dr. Asit Roy, Pt. Arun Bhaduri and Pt. Urmi Dasgupta. She completed her B. Muse and M. Muse from the Department of Vocal Music at Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata as ICCR scholar. She did her Ph.D. degree from University of Dhaka. Her thesis was entitled "The Aesthetics and Diversity of North Indian Classical Music". She is enlisted as a "special grade" artist of Bangladesh Betar (Radio) and Bangladesh Television in Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Sangeet, modern song, and classical music categories. Now teaches as Associate Professor at Music Department of the University of Dhaka. She attended so many prestigious program at home country and abroad like Bengal Classical fest- 2012, 2015 & 2016; Malhar festival (HCI), Bongo Sammelan(USA)- 2017, Banga Mela(USA)-2015, Begum Akter Festival (Delhi, Lakhnow), Bangla Sangeet Mela (Kolkata), International Mother Language Day (Nepal), Bangladesh -Russia Friendship Collaboration (Russia) and many more. Win National Film Award-2015 for "Anil Bagchir Ekdin" movie,, National gold medal on Nazrul Sangeet-2001, Champion in Thumri and Runner up in kheyal at Dover lane Music Conference, India and many more. Got Channel I music award in 2017, 2018 for best Classical Vocalist and in 2020, 2022 for best Nazrul Sangeet Singer. Also she got Rtv Award in 2017 for best female Singer. She released five solo albums and so many mixed albums.
