ABOUT
Pt. Kishan Ramdohkar born in 1961 in a music loving Maharashtrian family in Varanasi. He started learning the basics of Tabla from his elder brother Late Shri Shankar Ramdohkar at the age of 4. When he was 10, his formal training started under the tutelage of Pt. Ramji Mishra, son of the legendary artist Pt. Anokhe lal Mishra ji and the training continued for 36 years till 2008. His first performance was at the age of 11 and till now he has showed his excellence as a soloist as well as an accompanist. In 1979, he performed a jugalbandi with Pt. Ramji Mishra in Sankat Mochan Sangeet Samaroh, which became an unforgettable performance among the music lovers. He has accompanied the great musicians Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki, Pt. Balasaheb Poochwale, Pt Hanuman Prasad Mishra, Pt. Mahadev Prasad Mishra, Pt. Jyoti Bhattacharya, Pt. Rajan Sajan Mishra and many more. In 1993 He has successfully toured Brazil and other neighbouring countries. He is also a graded artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan. He is specially known for his perfection in playing Na-Dhin-Dhin-Na and Dhir-Dhir-Kit-Tak along with the other techniques received from his Guru’s Gharana.
