Born in a family of traditional classical musicians in Varanasi on November 28, 2003, Pushkar Bhagwat inherited music at a tender age of three years. He started training in the instrument of tabla from his father Pt. Pundalik Bhagwat (renowned tabla player and hindustani classical vocalist). While continuing tabla lessons he also began training in Violin under his father since 2009. After three years of training under his father, Pushkar started learning the violin from Late. Dr. Suwarna Khuntiya ji of Varanasi. Since 2017 Pushkar has been under the able guidance of world renowned Hindustani classical violinist Padma Bhushan Dr. N Rajam. Alongwith a successful performance career in violin, Pushkar has also been pursuing Tabla as a solo instrument. PERFORMANCES AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS • Won the first prize in both Tabla and Violin solo competitions organised by the Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Academy in the year 2019-20. • Awarded the prestigious Vishnu Digambar Paluskar Award at the Sharda Sangeet Vidyalaya, Mumbai in 2018. • Performed at the prestigious Saptak Sangeet Sankalp in Ahmedabad in 2018. • Performed at the serene stage of Subah-e-Benaras in Varanasi in the years 2018 and 2021. • Won the first prize in Tabla solo competition organised by the Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Academy in the year 2011. Apart the above mentioned, Pushkar has performed extensively across the country. Some of his most notable solo performances in both Violin and Tabla have been in cities like Mumbai, Pune, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Ayodhya, Tatanagar, etc.
