Dr Rageshri Das is one of the most talented singers of her generation. Born in a musical family Rageshri grew up with music. Her father Sri Purnendu Das is studied with Pandit Mahadev Prasad Mishra. Mother Srimati Krishna Das is also a vocalist studied with Sri Debobrata Biswas. Rageshri started learning vocal music with her father Sri Purnendu Das at a very young age when she was only 3. After learning with her father for few years since 1994 she went to study with Guru Pandit Mohan Lal Mishra (Benares Gharana). She had her discipline rigorous Talim of Khayal, Thumri, Bhajan with her Gurus in the manner of a systematic Guru-Shishya Parampara tradition since last 21 years. She has also been guided by Vidushi Rita Ganguly ji. Rageshri is one of the well known prominent young singers in India. Her performances are well appreciated by music lovers and musicians. She is not only a successful singer of Khayal, Thumri, or Bhajan but also Ghazal is one of her speciality. Her performances are on high demand in all over India. Important Achievements: 1993 : AIR 'Shishu Mahal' e enlisted for khayal nd bhajan. 1997 : Junior Scholarship from Centre for Cultural Resources & training (Govt of India). 2005 : Scholarship (young artist award) by Ministry of Culture ( Govt of India). 2005 : Winner of Music competition organised by DoverLane Music Conference, 2006 : All India Radio competition, winner of Khayal, Thumri, Raagpradhan, 2nd position in Bhajan. 2009 : Awarded Pandit Girija Sankar Smriti Puraskar from Rabindra Bharti University(Kolkata) for highest marks. 2009 : Received gold medal from Rabindra Bharati University for standing 1st class first in B.A. 2009 : Awarded 'Ravi Kichlu Foundation Golden Talent Contest Award' 2010 : Awarded All India Music Competition organised by 'Sangeet Ashram & Gyanpravah' directed by Pt. Vijay kichlu and given scholarship and special Talim for two years. 2011 : Received gold medal from Rabindra Bharati University (Kolkata) for standing 1st class first in M.A (Khayal) 2013 : Started PhD on 'Purav Ang Gayaki' 2015 : Winner of national reality show of Ghazal ' Jashn- e - Begum Akhtar( Ghazal Ki Nayi Awaz) Award organised by Doordarshan. 2015 : 'Kaladharmi' Award of khayal from Kaladharmi organisation (founded by Begum Akhtar). 2015 : 'Kaladharmi' Award for Ghazal and 'Ummid' Award for Classical and Semi Classical singing from BAAG (Begum Akhtar Academy of Ghazal). 2018 :- She completed her Phd on 'Purav ang gayaki. 2022 :- achieved 'Kala puraskar' for Thumri Gayan organised by Aditya Vikram Birla group. She is a regular artiste at All India Radio and Doordarshan, holding ' A' grade in Khayal & Raagpradhan, and 'B high' grade in Thumri & Bhajan. She is also doing some playback singing for movies.
