Dr. Ragini Sarna MUSICAL Born in Varanasi on September 3 rd, 1981 Dr. Ragini Sarna is learning Music under the tutelage of Eminent Classical & Semi-Classical Vocalist and Guru Pt. Devashish Dey for the last 19 years. FIELD OF MUSIC 1. Classical Vocal (Khayal) 2. Semi-Classical (Thumri, Dadra, Chaiti, Kazri, Holi) EDUCATION Passed M.Mus. from Faculty of Performing Arts, Banaras Hindu University with First Division. Then ater awarded PhD on the Topic- “Poorb Ang ki Thumari Gayaki” from there. She got Senior Research Fellowship from U.G.C. Also She received Junior Fellowship from Ministry of Culture, Government of India. She also passed Sangeet Praveen Exam of Prayag Sangit Samiti, Allahabad with First Division. COMPETITION & AWARDS 1. Received 'Sur Mani' from Sur Singar Samsad, Mumbai. 2. Stood First in both Classical & Semi-Classical Group in Cometition organized by U.P. Sangeet Natak Academy. 3. Won Gold Medal in Competition organized by Prayag Sangit Samiti, Allahabad. PROGRAMS Regular artiste of All India Radio & Doordarshan. Performed in places like Kolkata, Chandigarh, Delhi, Pathankot, Mumbai, Kullu, Raipur, Agra, Lucknow, Bihar, Datiya, Varanasi, Kanpur, Jhansi etc winning loud applauses from Audiences and appreciation from critics. SPECIAL Presented Papers in many Seminars and Conerences. Also conducted many Workshops. Worked as a Guest Faculty Teacher in Allahabad University, Haridwar University, Jodhpur University , Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith University and Musicology Department of Banaras Hinu University and as the Principal of Shilpayan Music Organisation.
