Bio:
Author Beth Hayes noticed the books recommended to her were depressing or disturbing. She didn’t want to read a book that opened with a horrific car crash or one described as being about a girl with nightmares. She wanted a book that was fun, happy, and adventurous. So she wrote the book she would want to read. Her debut novel, Start At One, is inspired by her favorite authors, Janet Evanovich and Adriana Trigiani. It’s full of quirky, resourceful characters and is lots of fun.

Beth and her family live in Rhinebeck, NY. A retired engineer, she’s leading a fun, happy and adventurous life. Her retirement motto is Three Things Each Day - health, creativity and discovery.

Frank Stoppenbach worked as a computer industry strategist, conventional life, playing key roles starting large businesses at several important junctures in computers (minicomputer, PC, Unix workstation)

One day in 1994, a front page Times article was headlined “FDA Warns the Dairy Industry Not to Label Milk Hormone-Free”.

Leading to an eventual 10,000 signer petition to label GMO milk, a New York congressional run, several legislative races, seeming election fraud, court cases, and more.

And to other efforts on the environment / toxins, health issues, HIV/AIDS, and the pandemic, and some common threads running through them.

With insight on how decisions are made (or not made) in government, politics, and business.

When the pandemic first began, in early 2020, he raised questions then which are now beginning to be accepted widely.

He has many published letters and articles, some given in the book, including from area papers, The New York Times, and the Washington Post.

He is the author of “Mission Possible? Getting Change People Want”, which includes many of the adventures outlined above.

Daniel Brown is a retired Special Education Teacher who began writing poetry as a senior. He recently published his first collection FAMILY PORTRAITS IN VERSE And Other Illustrated Poems at the age of 72. Daniel enjoys writing poetry in various styles but most enjoys writing poems that celebrate music and art. He has been published in various journals and anthologies and was included in Arts Mid-Hudson’s ‘Poets Respond To Art’, in 2022 and 2023. He also wrote several biographies of jazz musicians for a gallery presentation of jazz paintings at Gallery 40 Poughkeepsie, NY and has hosted a youtube channel titled Poetry From Shooks Pond.

Lois Chenkus was born and raised in Platte Clove, NY in the Catskill Mountains. As a columnist in High School she shared activities and schedules that reached all readers in two counties.

She worked two years as a Dental Nurse for two Dentist.

Lois spent five years as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and also went on three trips to Beloxi, Mississippi to help with other church members after Hurricane Katrina destroyed so many homes and businesses.

Taking an active role in Red Hook United Methodist Church serving on many committees also

as Liturgist and Usher with her husband Mark.

Lois is currently a part of the Open Gate Coffee House Ministries and serves on the Rhinebeck/Red Hook Healing & Prayer Ministry Team.

Poetry has always been a part of her heart and looks forward to continue writing.
