ABOUT
Devika was 4 when she first recited Sanskrit shlokas on stage at Sulochanadevi Singhania School. She has learned Sanskrit formally in school and college. In her words, "I really love the sound of the Sanskrit language and it fills me up with life energy. The stotras and shlokas are full of wisdom, I learn from them all the time. My grandfather, Dr. Shrinivas Kshirsagar instructed me in various Sanskrit scriptures and Vedanta philosophy. At his insistence, I have sung the opening prayer for large Chinmaya Mission gatherings on numerous occasions. My mother, Mrs. Gauri Kshirsagar is a Sanskrit scholar. We grew up listening to Mandukya Upanishad and many other recordings by Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj ji. Later, when I was studying at the Pandit Jasraj Institute, I learned many stotras composed by Bade Guruji Pandit Jasraj ji and Guruji Pta. Tripti Mukherjee. Blessed! Now, I feel like teaching Sanskrit Chants to anyone who would like to learn from me. We will chant together! I will focus on the meaning, correct pronunciation, recitation, and singing. Everyone is welcome! Thank you."
