ABOUT
Sumana Bhattacharjee is a rising and remarkable artist of hindustani classical instrumental music(sitar). She began her musical journey with sitar. Her initial training of music started under the guidance of her grandfather Sri Ramkrishna Bhattacharjee at the age of six. Thereafter she undertook talim for 14 years from Pandit Debi Prasad Chatterjee, who is an eminent sitar maestro of seniya maihar gharana. Then she took lessons from Pt. Ranajit Sengupta, who is a well known sarod maestro. Achievements:- 1. Maya Mitra memorial award winner by Aurobindo institute. 2. National scholarship holder by CCRT, Ministry of culture, govt. Of India (2005-2012) 3. Got Challenge trophy by murari smriti sangeet sammelan in 2013 4. Secured the challenge trophy by 'The Doverlane Music Conference' in 2015 5. Got Pandit Nikhil Banerjee and Nirodh baran memorial award from Rabindra Bharati University for securing 1st class 1st rank in graduation in instrumental music. 6. Nikhil Banga Sahitya Samman by Assam(Tinsukia).
