Biodata:- Sri Soumyajit Paul is one of the most promising & nationally acclaimed young sitar exponent from Kolkata, West Bengal. Started learning Sitar from his Father-Guru Sri Satyajit Paul(who is a senior disciple of the living-legend, Padmashree Pandit Manilal Nag) & then he took the intensive guidance under the tutelage of Sitar Maestro Pandit Soumitra Lahiri ji of the traditional Bishnupur Gharana under guru-shishya parampara since last 20 years. He is a 5th generation toarchbaerer of the traditional Bishnupur gharana and also inspired from the instrumental style(baaz) of Maihar-Senia gharana. ■An "A" graded Sitarist of AIR&DOORDARSHAN,KOLKATA. ■1st Class 1st & Gold Medalist in M.A.(Sitar) from the RABINDRA BHARATI UNIVERSITY, Kolkata ■ President's Award Winner(winner of All India Radio Music Competition 2011) ■Empanelled Sitarist of ICCR(2012) ■National Scholar(Ministry of culture, Govt.
