ABOUT
At Vivarta Arts, our mission is to preserve, promote, and innovate within the classical Indian dance tradition of Kathak while fostering cultural appreciation through education, performance & events. We are committed to nurturing creativity, discipline, and expression in students of all ages by offering high-quality instruction in Kathak and semi-classical dance forms. About the organization: Founded and led by artist and educator Preya Patel, Vivarta Arts is a New York–based dance school dedicated to the rich tradition of North Indian classical dance. With classes in Hicksville, NY and NYC, we serve a diverse student base, primarily children and youth, with a focus on strong foundational training, storytelling through movement, and community engagement. Our programming includes weekly classes, school residencies, and original choreography for public performances. Vivarta Arts also collaborates with live musicians and visual artists to provide a holistic and immersive learning experience. We strive to make classical arts accessible and relevant to the next generation while honoring the lineage and cultural roots of the art form.
